The last time we visited Villers Abbey, I worked with the family that didn’t stop! I have to tell you, not many kids do stop… which makes my job fun!
This time we had a family of six (1 more than our last visit to the Abbey) full of littles who were 4, 3, 2, and 0 years of age! This mom and dad team were fantastic and the littles were so sweet. Big sister A knew everything (even things about me!) while the littler sister (keep up!) was very picky about getting her picture taken (though rest assured she did end up sitting pretty and posing for me at the very end). The brothers, N and R were very stoic though I got a few smirks from big brother N and laughs from baby brother R. Okay, now that I’ve confused you all, here are their portraits!
This week, I was able to get out with a family of 6 (my biggest yet!) into the city of Mons. We walked around, me armed with a purse full of candy, them armed with big smiles and a lot of love! The best part about this session while we were shooting was how easy it was to get these kids, and mom, to laugh! They were such a hoot and when I opened the photos up, I fell in love with the colors mama dressed the family in! I am so happy with this session I may have to share a few more later!
While doing my mad dash to Easter, I got out one evening with a new family for their first family pictures in years. We met at the local parc and found out that only mom spoke English though the rest of the family was fluent in multiple other languages! We had a great time anyway exploring the parc and getting to know each other. The littles were so sweet together, often times playing in the sweetest way making it easy to capture some beautiful candid moments. The family was so in love with each other and so excited to get in front of the camera that my job was pretty easy this time around.
Thanks so much to this beautiful family for letting me document their love!
For my last Easter session, I share with you one adorable little Chickadee. This little bird is always giving me smiles when I see her and I love holding her because Mess Maker J is getting so big and she’s so small! I adore my baby and he’ll be my baby for always, but there is something about BABIES that just make me smile!
This little girl is 4 months old and about the age Mess Maker J was when I started playing with photography so I felt super comfortable and knew just what to do with this little Wren. She’s a sweet baby with some intense eyes. I loved getting her in the studio.
And thus concludes Easter sessions! HOPPY EASTER EVERYONE!
The last time we saw this wild child, he was celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with us! We ran around the park, threw rocks into the pond, and played our hearts out! My first few clients were friends, but M’s family became friends after their first session. They’ve invited the Mess Maker family into their homes for a giant Easter Eggstravaganza this weekend and when you’re an ocean away from family, all you want for the holidays are open arms and good food. Thank you so much to this wild family not only for coming out for photos but for opening their home to us in celebration of Easter!
Today I bring you not just one cute little one for Easter, but two. I got to work with a big sister and her little brother for Easter sessions and we had a blast. Big Sister A was a good egg who loved to pose for the camera and Little Brother B (who was not so little, he weighs as much as Mess Maker J!) was a smiley little man. We got some great shots and I am excited to share them with you!
This was my first chance to work with a little baby and toddler and I had a blast. It was so fun to see the littles interact with each other and to have little A model for me (she was so well behaved and listened so well to Papa!). Thank you for joining me for Easter!
The last time we got to see Miss E she was serious as can be but for Easter, we took her outside in the sunshine to chase the ducks and blow bubbles and she opened right up. She gave us her best CHEESE! face this time around and blew some fantastic bubbles where her mommy and I failed!
I couldn’t believe how many smiles we got from Little E and how much fun she had blowing bubbles. She’s a picky toddler (poor mama!) and didn’t want anything to do with our Easter props, but we still got some gorgeous spring photos!
Thanks for coming out and blowing bubbles with me Little E! I had a blast.
This week, I got to work with a little girl who, for some reason, just stole my heart. She’s always very serious but I love watching her crawl around and Mess Maker J enjoys giving her hugs when they play together.
We went out to the park on a sunny afternoon and mom brought the cutest hat for little A to wear in her Easter photos. I’m just so in love with these photos and they turned out so gorgeously, I am very proud of myself! Haha. I am really happy with how well they turned out, technically, and composition wise.
And my favorite, the exact last shot of the day…
That’s the wall art photo for me! Need that one larger than life!
Thanks little A for bringing the attitude to my sweet little sessions!
I got the chance to check out a local treasure with a gorgeous little family who kept me on my toes and trying anything I could to get them all looking, all smiling, and all in the shot!
Dad was a little serious, unless little girl was making him play (she conned quite a few rounds of Ring Around the Rosie out of him), while the two boys struggled to get in sync. One would look the other would look… away! But, in the end, we got some gorgeous photos at this historical site!
A big thank you to this gorgeous family for letting me capture your fun!
In Belgium, most families spend 4 nights in the hospital as standard procedure and a cot is provided for daddies to stay in the room every night too. It’s a different experience having a baby in Belgium and it wraps you up in a world of newness and gives you time to breathe before you walk into what is, essentially, a new world. And, for most mommies and daddies, it feels like you’re breaking out of prison by the time you FINALLY get discharged.
I got to go back to the hospital that brought Mess Maker J into the new world of family that, from the moment I walked in, exuded happiness. Mom and Dad couldn’t stop smiling and loving on this little baby. They were so natural with their little man and each other, that the session flew by. I can’t wait to work with this little family again. They’ll be coming by the studio with big brother for an Easter session in a few days so stay tuned for more squishy, wrinkly baby!
So, without further ado, enjoy the newness of this Belgian made mama, daddy, and baby!
Thank you to the little family that welcomed me into their brand new world, it was a beautiful visit!
