Parker is expecting a brother but we’re just now featuring him and his little family on the blog because I took such a long break.
Parker’s daddy and I met in college and the very first thing he did was show me that he could fit a medical glove on his head. That was a beginning of a very funny, very strange friendship and he’s probably the person that I think the most, “I cannot believe has a kid now,” but what I can believe is what an awesome daddy he is!
I was so happy when he found such a beautiful and kind woman like Danielle to put up with his crap and I was elated when they announced their pregnancy. I will love them forever. I cannot wait to see their second little man!
True story, I approached this family in the grocery store. To add to that story, we really hit it off and talked for like 45 minutes near the tomatoes.
So, this session took place on the tail end of a heatwave with storm clouds covering all of our light. It was a tough session for all of us but we got some really cute, intimate, loving shots of this family and making art for my clients is such a huge plus but it is such a rewarding experience to walk into someone’s home and be not only welcomed but able witness to the true, honest love of parenthood and marriage. This little girl is in for an amazing lifetime with these two and they’re an amazing team together. It was such a joy to spend time with them for their session.
Hopefully you recognize some faces in this little session–mum and dad got with me for maternity portraits a few weeks ago–Lifestyle Maternity – Calm Magic! Even more exciting is that we’ll get to see this family one more time soon!
I so, so love capturing the precious moments at the hospital before a newly changed family leaves the sanctuary of the hospital. For me, it’s like a spell is broken and life starts passing in a different way. The moment is so fleeting too that it’s hard to remember even (for me) 19 months later. For me, these are some of the most important newborn portraits to get because of that.
This little man was definitely the smallest baby, weighing in at about 5.5 lbs (if I’m remembering correctly). He was almost 1/2 the size of my mess maker! Big or little–he’s still full of so much adorable personality that I’m excited to work with him again and to see him grow even though I’m moving away.
